Ceramic tiles are made from red or white clay fired in a kiln. The tile is always finished with a durable glaze that carries color and pattern. Ceramic tiles are used in wall, and floor tile applications and are softer and easier to cut than porcelain.
Porcelain Tile
Porcelain tiles are made by the dust-pressed method from porcelain clay. This process results in a dense, impervious, fine-grained, and smooth tile with a sharply formed face.
Porcelain tiles usually have a much lower water absorption rate than non-porcelain tiles making them frost resistant.
